FOLIAGE — for Galerie Chevalier Parsua
A hand-knotted rug design for Galerie Chevalier Parsua in Paris, in occasion of their 20th anniversary.
Following an intuitive way of hand-drawing, the carpet is covered by the sinuous shapes of stylised leaves, taking inspiration from textile arts’ recurring use of botanical themes throughout its rich history.
This piece is completely handmade in Iran using traditional techniques and all-natural pigments. The production took six months, and it required the work of two artisans, for a total of 160.000 knots per sqm.
